When should you see a Chiropractor for your Neck Pain?

Neck pain and neck stiffness is always cause for concern, but sometimes the pain and discomfort subsides in a few days depending on the root cause of the issue.

If regular neck pain is a part of your life, or if you’re experiencing any of the following, I would love to see you in my practice to determine if Chiropractic can help you.

Here are a few reasons when you may want to consider seeing a Chiropractor for your Neck Pain:

  1. If you neck pain is hanging around for more than a few days, it’s a good idea to book an appointment. If the cause of the pain is due to a motor vehicle accident or a work related injury, it’s always important to get evaluated by a medical professional to rule out anything serious.

  2. If you’re waking up with neck pain that seems to get better by the end of the day, it could be a sign of improper sleep posture or even teeth grinding if its accompanied by a headache your temples. Nighttime clenching of the jaw can work its way into your neck and shoulders and cause headaches.
  3. If you find yourself reaching  frequently for  over-the-counter pain medication to manage neck pain for more than a week.  Chiropractors can help identify the root cause of the issue so that you can resolve it at its source and recommend or refer to another therapy if Chiropractic can’t help.
  4. If you feel a sharp pain when making basic everyday movements like looking to your right and to your left, it’s time to get evaluated.
  5. Has your neck pain spread to other parts of your body? For example, sometimes pain can start in the neck, and then slowly turn into tingling in other parts of the body, like your arms or fingers or even a headache.
  6. When your daily tasks start becoming an issue due to the pain you’re experiencing. This can cause new emotional and physical stress if it’s affecting your overall joy. Getting help now before the issue becomes more serious is always a good idea.
